Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Michigan

My husband cant touch the trust until his little brother is 30.

My husband is in the military and going to Irac. I want to make sure I am covered in case something happends. The trust says that we cant spilt or do anything with the land before his brother turns 30. Right not we have been living/fixing up my husbands grandparents farm house for 3 years. There is 40 acers that is owned by all 4 siblings. So he owns 1/4th of it in 7 years. His mom is the administrator. Am i going to get his portion of the land as his benifitiary or am I going to be thrown to the curb with no where to live. I have never seen a copy of the trust. I have only talked to his mom about it. Should I talk to a lawyer before my husband leaves or am I covered by his benifitiary papers?

you are not an heir, most likely, and your husbands share could be extinguished at his death. You would have to know how the trust is written, but you are not on solid ground here. Visit www.kliszlaw.com to discuss further. Tim Klisz

You need to see the trust b/c you don't know what it says, so everything is speculation and you'll never get the proper advice you need. Doesn't even sound like you even know if it's a revocable trust or a irrevocable trust.

I'd Get a copy of the trust and go see a lawyer, and have him/her review it's provisions and tell you what it all means.
