Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Minnesota

Ch. 7 Bankruptcy

We plan to consult an attorney to file ch. 7 bankruptcy. My concern is regarding any possible(?) assets I may have for my living parents' home. My parents had indicated that they planned to put their home in my sister's and my names. I am unaware if they have do so and have not signed anything. If they put our names on their house, wouldn't we be made aware legally? I don't plan to tell them about filing bankruptsy, so I don't just want to go out and ask them.

Re: Ch. 7 Bankruptcy

You are going to need to find out for sure if you want your bankruptcy to go smoothly. Don't tell them why you are asking, just ask. Also, check the county recorder records to see if such a deed was filed.

You should check at the County Recorder's office to see if it's been recorded.

You definitely need to know this because you don't want this to pop up after you've filed bankruptcy.
