Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Minnesota

Creditors Rights

In June 2004, I cosigned a bank note for a friend the amount was $10,000.00. After checking the status of the note, she was in default 3 months. I cured the default (3months) and have been paying the note since. She has now notified me that she is filing Chpt.7 and wants records of the note she agreed to pay. The Bank will not release any records to her nor do I want them to. Can the court discharge her from the note she signed, even thought I am now paying? Thank you.

Re: Creditors Rights

Yes.

And her attorney would be well advised to list you as a creditor on the bankruptcy. She owes you now too.
