Automobile Title

I bought a vehicle from a dealership which was sold without a clear title... what are my options... they continue to drag their feet and my tabs are coming due.

Re: Automobile Title

Sounds like a certain place on Lake Street I've heard of before.

Dealerships are bonded. If you sue them and win, the bonding company pays if the dealership can't. So you should be in good shape.

A quick and cheap option is to complain to the MN Attorney General's office. Too many complaints, and the dealer won't be licensed anymore.

Start by calling the dealer and saying you're calling the attorney general if you don't have a title by September 1st. That should shake them up.

Good luck.

Re: Automobile Title

The dealership is in breach of contract. You can sue them for that. However they are clearly wrong and have no legal justification to delay remedying their mistake. Send them a strongly worded letter stating you will sue, that you will complain to the Better Business Bureau, the Attorney General of MN and the Commerce Department of the Federal Government. Keep a running tally of expenses you have incurred because of their selling you a car with a clouded title - they should reimburse you for those too.

Good luck -
