Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Minnesota

Credit Card Collection

I just received a summons (I think..not sure if its real or just intimidation) from a collection company A that said they purchased a bad debt from another collection company B that purchased this debt from a credit card company I had a card with 5 years ago. I just states I owe 4400.00 plus interest in the summons and says I need to contact them in 20 days or a judgement will be issued against me. No proof of any kind. I have sent them a letter requesting validation. They sent me a document stating company A purchased debt from company B with no original documents from the credit card company or any validating proof such as signed agreements or how the numbers were derived. What should be my next step?
