5th degree possession.

I was charged with a 5th degree possession charge for marjuana. Could you tell me what I'm facing,

and if I need an attorney or will a public defender be okay?

A fifth degree possession is a felopny charge which carries with it the potential for prison time. As a result, a strong defense is necessary. A conviction for a felny can have a serious impact in addition to a term of imprisonment and fines. Such a conviction would appear on a background check and could significantly impact your employability as well as your ability to even rent an apartment.
