Can I go to jail if a check bounced and I defaulted on a Payday loan?

You can be charged with a theft by check. If tha mount was less than $500, it is a misdemeanor punishable by up to 90 days in jai and a $1000 fine.

Yes, if the local prosecuting authority charged you with a crime, such as issuing a check without funds.
