Legal Question in Criminal Law in Minnesota

innocent man convicted of 2 counts of 2nd degree murder- what can be done!

How can the judge put my child's father away killing someone when he is innocent and there is a huge reasonable doubt? i really cannot believe that all 12 jurors found the defendant guilty of both charges when the only witness that claims the defendant was the shooter was the only other possible killer. The other two witnesses weren't sure who the shooter was all they know is that my boyfriend was the driver of the vehicle. I believe that this whole trial was set up to turn out this way and that the other guy, after changing his story three times ''on the record'' was promised a deal from the prosecution as long as he testified against my boyfriend. (besides the fact of him being released after the verdict of my guy's trial, until his sentencing) This isn't right. They are doing this because they don't like my boyfriend and have had it out for him for many many years. I need to know what to do about this issue, I have a one year old son with the defendant and desperately need real justice to be served. We only had a public defender for his murder trial because we couldn't come up with all the money to hire a private attorney in time, but we are working to get enough now to hire an attorney that is not afraid of the state

Your options will depend on whether there were any errors made in the trial court. If there were significant errors, you could apply for the verdict to be set aside or you could go to the appellate courts.

If the trial has concluded and he was convicted by the jury, the course of action may be to review the record to determine if any errors have been made warranting a new trial.

If the court denies the Motion for a new trial, the trial record must be reviewed for errors ofr challenges and an appeal can be taken to the Minnesota Courts of Appeals.
