Legal Question in Criminal Law in Minnesota
investing
If I decide to invest with an online group which offers high yeild return, am I breaking any laws if the group turns out to be money launderers, or some subversive type? They say they invest in various internet ventures and the return is high. There are quite a few of these opportunities online. I am assuming there actions are legal, but can I get into trouble if they turn out to be illegal, unbeknownst to me?

Re: investing
This question would be better put to a lawyer who practices in securities law. I do not. I am a criminal defense lawyer.
Sometimes people are charged with being a part of a criminal conspiracy, even when they have no or limited knowledge of the group's criminal activity.
The situation you've described sounds like a scam in which you could be the next victim. You may want to research such scams further, and-or check with law enforcement officials who regularly investigate fraud, and internet fraud.
This is not legal advice. Only a lawyer you retain to fully investigate the facts, and research the law, applicable to your case, would be in a position to give you legal advice.
