Legal Question in Criminal Law in Minnesota

The officer that took my statement after a domestic omitted pertinent details in the official police report. He did not record my statement (at least not to my knowledge). Now my husband is facing a second charge that he wouldn't be if the officer had included my whole statement. What can I do?

The person charged should have experienced counsel. That attorney may seek a statement from any favorable witnesses which may include the victim. Ultimately, if the matter proceeds to trial, a jury determines the credibility of statements made.

You could talk to his lawyer, perhaps give the defense lawyer or investigator a recorded statement, if desired. You could also retain your own lawyer to assist you.
