Legal Question in Criminal Law in Minnesota

stalking and harrasment

me and my ex girlfriend broke up about 1month and a half ago. since then i would call her frequently to talk to her about the situation. so she blocked my number. so about three weeks ago i went up to my ex girlfriends work place to talk to her and she refused to talk. so i followed her to her house. she called the police that i was stalking her and making her fell scared. so the police told me that if i was to get in contct with her i will be charged with stalking. well its been about three weeks and i reliazed that i acted crazy and scared her. i wanna know if i will get arrested and charged if i wrote her a letter to tell her that im truely sorry for what i have done, since i feel like i have scared her.

It is not particularly likely that you will be charged for one incident. However, at this point NO CONTACT is the best way to proceed. You have been advised that she wishes not contact which means that contact, for any reason, could support a restraining order at least and a criminal charge at most.

Do not write a letter.

That would be a bad idea. Since she has told you not to contact her, and police have done so as well, they have evidence that you've been warned. To contact her again, for any purpose, would give them a chance to charge you with a crime. Why risk it? I'd say, let it go and forget her.
