Legal Question in DUI Law in Minnesota

Friend got DUI in my car

My friend got a DUI in my car. I recieved nothing. They impounded my car for the night. I got it back the next day. With my original plates. I don't have any DUI charges and have never been in this situation. Could anything else happen to me?

Re: Friend got DUI in my car

If you got the car back you are very lucky. Had it been that person's third offense within ten years, or second offense with a reading of over .20, the car would have been seized and you might never have seen it again.

You are probably in the clear at this point - unless there was an accident. You could have some liability for damages or injury to others if that happened.

There's a lesson here. Don't let other people drive your car.
