Legal Question in Family Law in Minnesota

Adoption of stepchildren

I would like to find out what legal rights i have as a stepfather, and what are my chances of adopting my stepchildren so that i have some legal say in how decisions are made?

Re: Adoption of stepchildren

Our office does Step-parent adoptions. The main question is whether the parents of the children would approve such an adoption. In doing so, you would be terminating the birth father's parental rights. Please feel free to call me to set up a free consultation 952-746-4111 or e-mail me at [email protected]

Re: Adoption of stepchildren

In order to adopt a step child the biologcal father's rights must be terminated. TO terminate those parental rights as part of a step parent adoption you must (1) have an agreement with the biological father; or (2) demonstrate that the biological father endangers the child.
