Alimony for Insurance Claim

Yes I am getting a divorce. i am wanting my Computer Wife says no. She is on SSI but 2 years ago she got some insurance money from a car Accident like 16,000.00, She has a Payee that put that in a Trust Fuund or a disability trust Fund and my Wife says I cant push for alimony because that Money is off limit to me Since this doesnt tie in with her SSI money can I push for Alimony and get 1/2 of it. That is the Insurance Money since it has nothing to do with her SSI

No. You cannot get half of it. Whether you have an spousal support claim deopends on many things incuding the length of the marriage, the contribution to the marriage and the earning capacity of the parties, among other things.
