Legal Question in Family Law in Minnesota

Child support

Is child support based on 25% of the non-custodial parents gross income or their net income? Are the incomes of the two parents also a factor in this? Does the non-custodial parent have to pay half of the childcare cost as well?

Re: Child support

Child support under Minnesota statutes is based on the non-custodial parent's net income. It gives little consideration to eth custodial parent's income. In addition to guideline child support, daycare costs that are incurred to allow the custodial parent to work or go to school are by a formula. That formula takes 75% of the total cost and divides it proportionate to inmcome after the exchange of child support.
