Legal Question in Family Law in Minnesota

divorce

I am divorcing my husband-but he's still in the house-he won't leave. (until he has to by law). Can I buy a car in my name only-and get insurance for only me-does he have a right to that car? Because he doesn't work, and I am not putting gas in our other 2 cars. And he won't sign the car I drive over to me-so I can get a seperate insurance policy just for me? I also have multiple sclerosis & I'm on ssdi and work part time out of my house. I would leave-but I pay all the bills aand the house would be foreclosed. There's too much equity to loose it. He does go to school full time-but says he has NO time to work.. We have one child-13. Can I have him live with me-to force my future ex to get a job & pay support? Or does our child have a choice of ho he lives with? thanks you sooo much-jeanine

Re: divorce

If you haven't hired an attorney, do so. All of the issues that you have raised can be dealt with in a temporary hearing. Unfortunately, of course, it will cost you legal fees. Dennis
