Legal Question in Family Law in Minnesota

Father wants custody of his children that have been neglected and abused by Moth

On behalf of my Father that does not have internet. My Father''R'' has three children with a woman ''J'' they are 14 and twins 11.

Ten years ago ''J'' left ''R'', they lived in Minnesota and she moved them to Colodaro with-out ''R'' permission. She moved there with a woman that she went to church with and took the kids with her.

We know that when they moved that the kids were told that our father had died. This is not true.

We have not had contact or heard from them since then.

We have now just been notified from Colodardo that the kids are in a Foster home due to ''J'' child neglect. She allowed the children to be very seriously abused for three years! You think of it and it has happened to the kids. The person that abused them is the woman that moved to Colorado with them from ''J'' church. She is the one being charged. ''J'' had her kids working on this womans farm, basicly ''renting them!!''

The social worker said ''J'' is not mentaly all there. I need some advice on how to go about our Father getting custody of them.Is their anything he can do,because he has paid child support to''J''for the last 13 years, and the kids haven't benifited from it.

If the children are in Colorado, that is the state you have to start with. This was addressed as a question of Minnesota law, and it is no longer a question of Minnesota law. Redo the question. Label it as involving Colorado law. You need the help of a Colorado lawyer. If the kids are in a Colorado foster home, they are under the jurisdiction of a Colorado court.

Good luck.
