What if I am late or miss a spousal support payment?

You still owe the spousal maintenance. What will happen to you depends on the other person. He/She could bring an action to find you in contempt of court. If you are employed, he/she could request that income withholding be commenced and have the spousal maintenance deducted from your income. There are other remedies available to the other person but he/she will likely need the assistance of an attorney to pursue the other remedies.
