Legal Question in Family Law in Minnesota

Not reporting Child support when on welfare

I was served paternity papers on a child that was born 6 years ago. I had been payin her support by berbal agreement she accepted the checks every month. what she didnt tell me was that she was also getting welfare/assistance and she neglected to tell the county also that she was in fact gettin support from me. My question is, since she was committing fraud do I owe AFDC anything? Since she would ahve be inelidgible to get afdc had she reported my child support to her. And thank goodness I always paid her with a check .

Re: Not reporting Child support when on welfare

She has committed welfare fraud which is likely to be considered a felony.
