Legal Question in Family Law in Minnesota

spousal maintence

If in my divorce decree this was reserved and its been 14 years, can I presue to recieve it after this much time? At the hearing he lost his job 2 weeks before and financially I have not been able to make it on the extremly low child support or none at times, my sons are going to college and still at home so I am trying to see if spousal maintence could be established at this time? And how would I go about this or what is the process that could be done with minimal costs. And take into fact that he is now on VA and social security, can they withheld it from them if I am awarded it. thank you

Re: spousal maintence

It would be extremely unlikely that a court would award spousal suport after such a significant amount of time. In other words, it is possible, but unlikely.
