Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Minnesota

does the neighbor have any right to movable property stored with previous owner

I bought real estate 6 years ago. This wkend a neighbor came to pull a part off a haybaler, claiming he was part owner of this baler, that it was stored with the previous owner. Says to his acquaintence, ''I'll sell the haybaler to you for $150 scrap.'' Does this person have rights to the removable property so long after the sale of the real estate?

Any mention of this in the purchase of the real estate? Purchase agreement usually lists personal property included in sale.

WIthout written proof of a storage/bailment agreement, you should assert ownership in the equipment. {In the alternative assert a storage lien for the fair value of the storage rental amount for the equipment. That would need to be paid before you would release the equipment.}
