Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Minnesota

serving a court order to someone out of the country

If I am living in Spain, but own property( have an address) in Minneapolis Minnesota, can some one serve me a notice for court appearance and file a law suit against me in district court in Hennepin county?

Is there a current claim (lawsuit ) pending against you? Does it relate to the property in any way?

If so they may try to attach the property or get jurisdiction over you through the property. Ultimately, they would have to serve you (for a MN or Fed. court action) personally, perhaps via the Long Arm Statute.
