Legal Question in Employment Law in Minnesota

Chapter 11 and discrimination cases

A company that is being sued in a number of discrimination cases is preparing to declare Chapter 11 as a part of restructuring. How do we avoid getting written off in the process? Is there an attorney or practice with experience/specialization in this area?

Re: Chapter 11 and discrimination cases

Generally speaking, bankruptcy will not affect the civil rights claims, and they shoudl contain tort claims against the company , and if appropriate the individual officers and directors. This is complex, and any attorney pratciing in the employement area will be able to deal with this issue, or to engage a bankruptcy attorney to assist.
