Legal Question in Employment Law in Minnesota

Salon Non-Compete

I have been working for a salon for 8 Years. We have a Non-Compete that includes distance of 10 miles and that we are unable to solicite our guests for 1 year. When I started with the company I did not have a contract and was forced into it by our General Manager if I wanted a pay raise. Is there any way around this? I am thinking of looking for a salon 10+ miles away but, I would like to purchase my guest list. Is there anyway of going about this in the proper way so I am not sued?
