Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Minnesota

What is required of me when...

My roommate has not been home outside of two days in 3 months. She pays her portion of the rent, as dictated by the lease.

I am aware that her things remain here as she has forfilled her obligation to the lease. Can I move her things into the basement? Am I obligated to tell her about her mail? What do I do about her pets? She hasn't come home to see them, she states she misses them, pays for supplies, but doesn't care for them. If she doesn't come to take them or arrange for some one to take care of them, what can I do?

I've already asked her to arrange care for her pets, and put a temp forwarding on her mail if she isn't going to live here. Is there anything else I should do?

Call the Humane Society and let her know you have no obligation to care for her pets and they will be turned over as abandoned within 7 days if they are not claimed.

Re: Other Items, you need to get agreement from the roommate or an arrangement before taking other action.Feel free to call or e=mail me.
