Legal Question in Personal Injury in Minnesota

What can a guy do?Run down by car &now more!!!!!!!!!!!!!,

Please HELP!

I was hit by a car in the cross walk in dt mpls. And the Lawyer that I hired tells me that it may take up to several years in order to settle this. However, the person that hit me has already told her insur. co that she is at fault for this, and the police report says the same thing, now I feel that both my lawyer and her insur.co. just wants to sit on this case, I want this thing settled before the new year ,because/I feel as though I am more than just the person that got hit!I feel like I am being taken for a legal ride. Now, what can I do to put an end to this before the end of the year?

Listen to your lawyer.

Many injuries caused by a car accident are not even known for a number of months and/or years. The jarring action of an accident may cause damage that later shows up in the form of a degenerative illness. If you settle now, youmay not know the full extent of your injuries and the settlement amount will be way too low.

You may be able to settle before the end of the year. It will depend on what your injuries are and what has been provided to the drivers insurance company. If your injuries were serious but you have recovered as much as you ever going to, the insurer might settle with you now.

If your injuries were more in the nature of soft tissue injuries (no broken bones, scars or disk herniations)it will be difficult to settle with the insurance company until at least one year after the injury.

You did not mention when the injury occurred, what the injuries were or how much you have incurred for medical expenses. All of these factors are important in determining whether you can settle your case now.

You should first talk to your lawyer to find out exactly why he feels you can't settle now. If you are dissatisfied with the answer, you may want to seek the advice of another experienced personal injury attorney.
