Legal Question in Personal Injury in Minnesota

Slip and fall while looking at property with realtor

We went with a realtor on a rainy, wet day to look at a wooded, hilly, undeveloped piece of property. My husband slipped and twisted his ankle and had to be carried out of the woods by ambulance personnel. Can we hold the real estate company liable and get reimbursement for medical bills?

To be able to recover for an injury you would need to show that the realtor was negligent in some way. I think this would be difficult with the description you gave of what happened. They are not liable for dangers that are open and obvious. The owner of the property may have insurance coverage that provides for payment of some of your medical bills. That should be discussed with the owner.

I am sorry that our office is not able to represent you on this matter. I would encourage you to contact another attorney if you wish to proceed with this matter.

Good luck.
