Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Minnesota

landowner

We are building a motocross track and would like to make it available to the neighborhood kids to use. We do not want to be held liable for any injuries. What do we have to do to cover our butts?

Re: landowner

There are a couple of things you can do. A properly drafted release is a good idea. Plenty of insurance is another good one. You may want to consider creating an entity, too. It is impossible to prevent everyone from suing or to cover every possible scenario, but there are several things you can do to limit your liability. I recommend you speak to a competent attorney before beginning construction.
