Legal Question in Traffic Law in Minnesota

DL suspensions

How can I get questionable suspensions off my record? They were both paid before being suspended but not processed in time. Also, are people's driving records available to the public or are they private?

Re: DL suspensions

Minor traffic violations such as speeding tickets which are over 5 years old can be removed from your record free for the asking. The number to call for that, last time I checked, was 651-296-2025. I don't know if it would apply to what you have, but call them and ask them.

It's often very hard to get through on that number. Use your redial until you get through. Try them in the morning. In the afternoon it is hopeless.

Starting a few years ago it became possible, when you renew a license, to check a box that says you want your record kept private. Ask them about that as well when you call. There should be a way to do it even if your license is not up for renewal.

Good luck.
