Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Minnesota

my father's last will states that if one of us children decides to farm, than they are entitled to land and equipment needed to farm. When my father died 8 years ago, none of us wanted to farm so things were sold etc., my oldest brother decide now he wants to farm, thus screwing my mother's income, because she rents the land out. Is there a way around this for my mother's sake, my bother is a true jerk and has been after this for years.
