Federal Judges?

Is there any avenue for citizens to take to oust or recall a federal judge?

Not really. Federal judges are appointed for life and can only be removed via impeachment. You can complain about the judge to your local U.S. Representative, but the problems would have to be very severe before Congress would impeach him. I believe fewer than ten federal judges have been removed from office since the Constitution took effect in 1787.

I should add that this answer applies only to actual federal judges, and not to magistrate judges or to immigration, bankruptcy or various other types of administrative law judges. Ousting any of these officers would also be quite difficult but would not require an actual impeachment.
