Legal Question in Criminal Law in Mississippi

buying a lawyer???

A good friend was arrested for murder1. He bail was set at $500,000 and he was appointed a public defender. I think I'm the only one in my community that believes he's innocent untill proven guilty. The rest of his life is in the hands of the public defender who really doesn't care if he lives or dies. My ? is: Are there any lawyers out there that would represent my friend for a low cost? I have no money but I'll work my butt off to pay for a lawyer for my friend.

A Public Defender is just a lawyer, no better, no worse than others, and generally they do a good job. A murder case can run as high as $50,000, but generally will run $25,000.00
