Can a public school ban a parent from the premises? Saying that the parent used public profanity, while the parent was fussing, the coach was cussing him out and threatened to own parents home. School banned parent from premises. Parent went to school the next morning to speak with the principal and the principal had the police copy his drivers license in front of a foyer full of people. What is the parents rights in this case?

The police copying the license is a non issue. The question to be asked is can the parent be banned. In cases yes, depending on the actions and the school policy.

As for the coach, if an individual was threatened, then there could be charges filed for simple assault
