Legal Question in Family Law in Mississippi

Child Support

My ex-wife is applying for medicade, she wants me to sign a piece of paper saying that since my daughter has started school i have been paying fifty dollars a month and helping with school expenses. I have been paying two hundred dollars since our divorce was through, that following march. Does the court need to chang the amount of child support or can we, the parents, come to an agreement?

Re: Child Support

The Court must approve any changes in child support and I seriously doubt the Chancellor will lower your obligation to $50 per month. Child support guidelines are set by statue. For the Judge to allow you to pay $50 per month, he/she must believe your AGI to be about $350 monthly. I can't see this happening. This is fraud and it is a crime; don't do it!
