Legal Question in Family Law in Mississippi

Ok when my fiance and I get married, and wants to adopt my children to have his last name. Once that is done will that affect any child support that he is paying for his child/ren with someone else?

If it is ok with the Father of your children the children can use the last name of the newly adoptive Father. Otherwise the Court needs to approve a name change. As to whether or not it will affect his existing child support the answer is not usually. He knew when he asked you to marry him he had a child support pre-existing obligation to meet so I doubt the court will allow him to reduce that obligation. In fact, the Court may increase it due to the ever increasing needs of older children.
