Legal Question in Family Law in Mississippi

A Mississippi Chancery judge placed custody with her father after an appeal. Though the appeal did not state this, The judge ordered it right before i was to pick her up. He then required me to have a performance bond to visit my daughter that lived with me for over 11 years. I have not seen her since she left for visitation in June. I have called many bonding companies and they told me to contact the court to find a company that does this. I have had no answer from the chancery clerk's office. I cannot visit and all the order states is that I am required to have a performance bond. Are you familiar with this? do you know of any companies that do this? Is this legal for a court to prevent me from seeing my daughter? I have an attorney that will not answer my questions and is afraid I will file with the ethics commisssion because i asked if I should.

If you are in Mississippi you should contact a commercial Insurance Company that sells bonds to Construction Companies and for other reasons. A certain BANK recently purchased a large insurance company on the Gulf Coast and that agency can provide a Performance Bond if you qualify for one to be issued. The Court is not preventing you from seeing your child, it is merely making it difficult and in the process ensuring that you adhere to certain mandates or conditions including (without doubt) the requirement to return the child to the father at the end of the visitation period. You should change attorneys at once if your attorney will not assist you or if the relationship has deteriorated to such a point that one of the parties feel threatened by the other.
