Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Mississippi

Name Change

I have been hyphenating my name for years. Maiden name-married name. I recently went to the social security office to have them put my maiden name onto my social security card. All I had to show were my marriage license and drivers licsence. They did it no problem and with no questions asked. I then went to the DMV and they wouldn't put my maiden name back on because they said I didn't specify that I wanted my maiden name on there when I first got my license. What do I need to do?

Re: Name Change

You will need to have an attorney obtain a chancery order approving a change of your name.
