Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Mississippi

harrassment

After my ex boyfriend and I broke up he cut my truck tires. He signed a notarized agreement stating that he will pay me $225on the day I dropped the charges against him and the remaining balance of $406 by July 19, 2007. If not payed by then he will have to pay the balance plus half. It is September nnow and he hasn't repayed me. I've called numerous timnes asking for my money. Now he has gone to the police saying that I'm harrassing him.

Can he say it's harrassment if I'm asking about money he owes me? And is my agreement legal? It is typed, notarized, and signed by both of us.

Re: harrassment

You probably need to stop talking to him (since that is getting you nowhere) and file a lawsuit against him. Mississippi may have some type of 'small claims' court where you could bring this type of action. You will want to talk to an attorney licensed in Mississippi about this process and how to proceed. It's worth a modest consultation fee to get some advice on the front end.
