Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Mississippi

My step dauther is married and decideed to leave her husband. They share an apartment together. Both parties are on the lease. She is pregnant and works m- f and is unable to move her things, so my step daughter sends her mother and I to collect her things. We told the landlord (my step daughter' s aunt, my wife's sister) what we are there to do. She gives us permission and we collect her things while her husband is at work to avoid conflict. My step daughter's husband has filed charges on us saying we or broke into his apartment and that he had to be present for us to move her stuff out? Is this true? And could these charges stick?

You have been charged. Now the issue is the defense. I am assuming you have been charged with trespass in municipal or justice court. You are going to have to argue consent and permission. I suggest you seek counsel and not go in alone and be steam rolled
