Auto Accident

If involved in an auto accident without insurance and you refuse to pay the damages because they were too much, what can happen?

You can still be sued and held liable. The other party may, or may not, have and uninsured motorist policy and may pay the damages but you can still be sued for them. If found liable a judgment is good for 7 years in Mississippi and can then be re-enrolled for another 7 and so on. Collection of a judgment could lead to garnishment, levy on personal or real property etc., subject to other defined rules with regard to exempt and non-exempt property. The particular facts of your situation could lead to different conclusions but generally you can still be sued for the damages.
