You have a duty to reasonably keep your car under control and maintain a lookout for things in your path. However, you also have the right-of-way down your lane and anybody entering the right of way has a duty to yield to you if you are so close that he or she cannot safely enter your lane. Therefore the question for the jury in your case is whether the other driver unreasonably failed to yield the right of way.
