What if I don't file bankruptcy and just let the creditor come after me? What are my options?

If you have no nonexempt property and no job, and don't care much about your credit score, then simply doing nothing may well be the wisest course of action. But if that's not your situation and the creditor gets a judgment against you, then you could be looking at wage garnishment and/or property seizure. And it's hard to get the money together to file a bankruptcy while your wages are being garnished. Only actually filing a bankruptcy will stop a garnishment, and most attorneys -- myself included-- won't file the petition until all the fees are fully paid.
