Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in Missouri

Deformation of character

I am married and have hung out with a male associate at work several times...nothing is actually going on and there is nothing in actual writing that states company policy wise that two hourly associates can't on personnal time be with each other....however the district HR team is pulling a lot of associates into questioning them about my relationship with this other person. I feel that the thoughts and comments that are being placed in their minds are very wrong. Nothing has been stated to me in regards to the situation from the HR team however several associates in the store are talking and I have received numerous phone calls from others about the questioning.

Hello. It appears that you may have a claim for slander. If you were to file a lawsuit, it would have to be filed within 1 year of the slander. Otherwise, the lawsuit would be barred by the applicable statute of limations in the state of Illinois.
