Cancelling contract for wedding reception location

My fiance and I have decided to have our wedding elsewhere. Therefore, we need to cancel our contract with a local country club. The contract says we have to send written notice of cancellation to them for a full refund (since the wedding isn't until May, we meet the time constraints). I want to know what we should include in the letter. Should we send it 'certified' so we know they got it? Thanks!

The letter doesn't need to be long. "Per the provisions in our contract allowing cancellation with full refund we hereby notify you of our cancellation of this event. Please send the refund of the deposit to: ...

Send the letter certified with a return receipt.
