Legal Question in Consumer Law in Missouri

Consumer Refund

I was a customer of a local meal delivery co. When I found out that I was being relocated 4 work I called the co. and was told ''I would be given a refund of over $1700. This would take up to 3 wks to show up in my chk. act.'' I waited over 4 wks then f/u and my calls weren't returned time & again. Finally, after more than 8 wks. I spoke with a different individual w/this co. who says I signed a contract and I wasn't due a refund if I cancelled the svc. after 28 days. This is why I initially called the co. explaining I was moving out of state to see what they would do in this circumstance & was again told by a second employee that they had left me a msg. stating that I would be issued a refund (NO ONE ever left me a msg) and it was noted on my account. The employee I most recently spoke with now says the individuals that told me I was to receive a refund didn't have the authority to say so & I won't be given a refund and if he were to issue a refund he doesn't come up w/ the figure I was given. I was also asked on this last conversation the employee said I could sell my meals to a friend''. Do I have any legal recourse since I was told verbally twice I would be issued a refund and now the co. is renigging?

Re: Consumer Refund

I can't tell from the facts you gave whether or not you will have a claim for the refund. If you did not use or receive the product and the company told you they would give you a refund, then you might have a claim. This may depend upon whether there are any contracts involved. I would like to find out more facts so that I can determine whether you have a claim. Let me know if I can be of further assistance.
