Legal Question in Consumer Law in Missouri

Judgement against me

My husband filed bankruptcy in 1994 and I did not. I have 2 judgements against me since 1997 for $25,000.00 that I have not paid. An attorney called me and said he was going to do somee kind of writ against me but everything we have such as loans etc. is in my husbands name. What can they do to me?

Sincerely,

Betty

Re: Judgement against me

He may be preparing a writ of garnishment to secure property in your name. He can garnish your wages, and he can sell property that is in your name at auction. This includes cars, boats, jewelry, and similar personal items. He can also compel you to submit to an examination under oath about what you own.

You should consider gettting an attorney, or assistance from Legal Aid, as this could be a seriouis matter.
