Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Missouri

I have been found in contempt of court in OH I live in MO. I was never notified of a hearing concerning a suit filed against my company for an unpaid freight bill so I did not go. I did later receive a notice of a citation for contempt but did not go because it's 1400miles round trip and cannot afford to.

Can I be arrested in Mo for this type of thing or only if stopped in OH?

It appears that you have bench warrant, for failure to appear at a Show cause hearing. The court is holding you in contempt. You did not indicate if you personally were a defendant in the underlying judgment. Perhaps you were just a witness in a debtor's exam. If you were not, then you will not b e personally liable for the judgmetn amoun t. However, youi mighthave to post acash bond to get out of jail if you are picked up on the bench waqrrant. It sounds unlikely that you will be exctradited to Ohio, if picked up in Missouri. However, this matter is serious enough to have an attorney licensed in Ohio, give you specific advice as to how you might get this straightened out there. Many attorneys offer a free or low cost initial consultation.

Good luck
