Legal Question in Criminal Law in Missouri
My brother was arrested for a FTA, which he was not aware of any court date. When asked why he was not notified the lady said that she had sent him a notice in the mail. The address they had in their file was the most updated, but she used a different address from the child support website. This address has never been his. All his child support mail comes to a different address other than the one she used. My question is....How can this be fair when she had the address that was supposed to be used in the file, but went else where and used a different address? This caused and FTA and warrant. Now he is sitting in jail for this and he wouldnt be if she had used the correct address. What can we do?
