To my knowledge, their are no statutory absolute prohibitions to a non-violent crime parolee working as a personal trainer, even if it was a felony conviction. But, there may be obstacles to them being certified as a trainer, especially if there underlying crime was violent or involved any kind of sexual abuse . In some conceivable situations, working as a personal trainer may be a parole violation. Therefore, before that person spends money on training or certification, they should hire an attorney to investigate the criteria to being certified, and the effect working as one might have on their parole. That attorney can advise them about the effect of their conviction on getting certified and working as a personal trainer.

You were wise to seek general information based upon the limited information you could provide here. The smart thing now may to get specific legal advice based upon all the relevant facts and factors of your particular situation.

Good luck
