Legal Question in Criminal Law in Missouri

My son who is 16 and lives in St. Louis has been implicated as being involved in a burglary. He is unaware of any robbery and has never been in trouble. Some of his acquaintances from school are not above suspect however. Per the police he is to appear in court tomorrow to be read his rights and be questioned. Should he have an attorney present or take the 5th. I am in Los Angeles and unable to be there. His mother will be there but is nervous and inexperienced with police.

Yes, your Son should have legal counsel. He should refuse to answer any questions about the facts, (including those asked by the judge), until he had legal counsel. He should plead not guilty.

Good luck
